ROOSEVELT WILSON, Ed.D
Roosevelt Wilson has a doctorate in Educational Leadership, a master's degree in Educational Leadership, a master's degree in Elementary Education, and a bachelor's degree in psychology. He comes to Harbor Christian Academy from Spring Independent School District, where he served as principal his final five years and assistant principal for four years prior. He also has six years of experience as a classroom teacher. Before beginning his career in education, Roosevelt served with the United States Marine Corps. A few highlights of his 23-year tour as a Marine include Instructor at the Drill Instructor School in San Diego, CA, Administrator at the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy in Okinawa, Japan, and also in Beaufort, SC, as the director of the Lifelong Learning Center. He is husband to nd to Octavia, and the father of four adult children.
KATE WEISE, M.F.A
Kate Weise holds bachelor's degrees in History and English from Union University and has an M.F.A. in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She previously worked at Trinity Classical School of Houston where she taught second grade and Latin in addition to helping develop curriculum. She also directed an after school program for struggling bilingual K-5 students. She has tutored students in K-12 for the last 10 years and loves helping students uncover their potential. She and her husband Jeremy have two children.
Yvette Alvarez graduated with honors from the University of Houston Victoria with a bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and is currently working towards a master’s degree in Biblical Studies. Yvette has spent six years as a bilingual classroom teacher working with students from prekindergarten to fourth grade. Her biggest passion is helping students reach their full potential by fostering a love for learning and gaining a deeper understanding of God. Yvette and her husband Kevin have been married for sixteen years and have three daughters, Cassandra, Gabriela and Madison. Her hobbies include, spending time with her family, running and reading. Yvette is teaching kindergarten at HCA.
OCTAVIA WILSON, M.Ed
Octavia Wilson has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies and Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. In the early years of her adult life, she served our country for 6 years in the United States Army. Octavia has a passion for teaching and working with children. She believes learning should be fun and that teachers should generate in their students the desire and the ability to become lifelong learners. Before coming to Harbor Christian Academy, Octavia taught nine years in the Spring Independent School District in grades second through fourth. Octavia and Roosevelt have four wonderful children. Octavia is teaching first grade at HCA.
SALLY ANNE JOHNSON, M.Ed, LSC
Sally Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Biblical Languages from Houston Baptist University in 2012 and a Master of Education in counseling from the University of St. Thomas in 2018. She is a licensed school counselor and values holistic education that emphasizes the heart, soul, and mind of a student. Sally taught Latin I and II at Providence Classical School and second grade at Trinity Classical School. She loves creating a nurturing, collaborative learning environment and encouraging students to seek wisdom through God's truth. Sally has been married to Andrew for six years. She enjoys spending time in nature, reading, and exploring Houston. Sally is teaching second grade at HCA.
